Quick answer: Kibale National Park covers 795 square kilometres of rainforest in western Uganda, around 320 km from Kampala. It holds thirteen primate species including roughly 1,500 chimpanzees, the highest concentration in East Africa, with tracking success rates above ninety percent.
Kibale is where people come for chimpanzees. The forest is tall, wet and loud with primates and unlike gorilla tracking the terrain is relatively gentle. Thirteen primate species live here, from red colobus to the nocturnal potto. The adjacent Bigodi wetland, run by the local community, is excellent for birds and a further three primate species.
