About This Bwindi Gorilla Trek from Kigali
This Bwindi gorilla trek from Kigali combines Rwanda’s easy international access with Uganda’s lower permit price. Kigali is only three to four hours by road from the southern Rushaga and Nkuringo sectors of Bwindi Impenetrable Forest, which is closer than most of Uganda’s own airports.
You drive north through the Virunga volcanoes region and cross the border into Uganda, spending two nights at a lodge on the edge of the forest. The trek itself can take anything from one to six hours depending on where the family has moved, followed by one hour with the gorillas. The final day returns you to Kigali for lunch and your flight.

The Full Itinerary
Met at Kigali airport and driven north through the city and the Virunga volcanoes region. Cross the border into Uganda and continue to your lodge above the forest. Warm clothing is essential in the evenings.

An early briefing at the park office, then into the forest with the rangers and trackers to find your gorilla family. After one hour with the gorillas, return to the lodge to rest.
